The Sri Lanka Police has pushed back the closing date for recruitment to the Police Support Service by one month, now accepting applications until September 14 for nearly 400 vacancies across various technical and support roles.
The Sri Lanka Police announced through Government Gazette No. 2502 dated August 14 that applications for 383 positions within the Police Support Service will now close on September 14. The extension provides additional time beyond the original August 14 deadline that was initially set through Gazette No. 2497 in July.
The recruitment drive encompasses two primary job categories. One hundred seventy-seven openings are available for Police Sub-Inspector positions, while 206 positions have been advertised for Police Constables. According to the police authority, candidates should submit their applications through an online portal.
The Police Sub-Inspector vacancies span a diverse range of specializations including information technology roles such as website editing and development, systems analysis, and programming, alongside positions in quantity surveying, graphic design, mechanics, catering and planning. The Police Constable openings similarly cover a broad spectrum of technical and support functions encompassing healthcare roles like nursing and pharmacy, skilled trades including electrical work and welding, vehicle operations, computer-related duties, and various specialized services such as swimming instruction, stage lighting, and fitness training.
The police department has encouraged all eligible candidates to take advantage of the extended deadline to submit their applications.
