Sri Lanka Police are searching for three Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in the assault and murder of a fellow Chinese national at Colombo Port City in July. Two suspects have already been arrested.
Sri Lanka Police have launched a public appeal to locate three Chinese nationals wanted in connection with a serious crime that unfolded at Colombo Port City on July 23, 2026. According to authorities, three Chinese nationals were assaulted during the incident, and one of them was subsequently abducted and killed. The Colombo District Crime Division is leading the investigation into the case.
Police have already arrested and remanded two Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in the incident. Investigations are now focused on apprehending the three remaining suspects identified as Chen Hongbing, Lu Gao, and Xiang Huacheng. According to police findings, all three entered Sri Lanka on tourist visas that have since expired.
Authorities have expressed concern that the suspects may attempt to flee the country through illegal means, either by air or sea. Police have released photographs of the wanted individuals to the media in hopes of generating leads from the public.
