Police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying an unidentified male whose body was found on the beach in the Sinnakolaniya area within the Udappuwa Police Division. According to the Police Media Division, the body was discovered on June 22, and an investigation has been launched by Udappuwa Police. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established as the body was found in a condition beyond recognition. Police said the deceased had several distinctive tattoos, including the names “Esandi”, “Navindi”, and “Senuri” on the left side of his chest. A scroll tattoo appears on his right shoulder with the words “Rasanga Mama” beneath it, while the phrase “My life’s limits” is tattooed in English below the elbow on his right arm. He also has a tattoo of a woman holding a child on the left side of his back. The deceased was wearing a silver earring with a small cross in his left ear and a silver necklace with a silver pendant measuring approximately 1½ inches. The body has been placed at the Chilaw Hospital mortuary. Police have requested anyone with information that could help identify the deceased to contact the Officer-in-Charge of Udappuwa Police on 071 859 2175 or the Udappuwa Police Station on 032 225 8962.
