Authorities are seeking public assistance to apprehend a 39-year-old Hikkaduwa resident suspected of fatally shooting a female restaurant cashier in Meetiyagoda in November 2025. The man is also linked to multiple other shooting incidents across the region.
Sri Lankan police have appealed to members of the public to help locate a 39-year-old man from Hikkaduwa who is wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting death of a female cashier at a restaurant in Meetiyagoda on 17 November 2025. The Meetiyagoda Police Station, which is leading the investigation, has confirmed that the suspect has been identified but remains at large.
Beyond the fatal shooting at the Meetiyagoda restaurant, the suspect is also allegedly connected to additional shooting incidents occurring within the Gandara and Ambalangoda police divisions. Multiple arrest warrants have been issued against the individual in various cases that are currently pending before the Balapitiya Magistrate's Court.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect's whereabouts or activities to come forward immediately.
