A suspect was injured while another escaped after police officers opened fire during a drug raid in the Weerasinghe Mawatha area of Bokundara, Piliyandala, on Saturday morning. According to Police, officers attempted to stop and search two suspicious individuals when the incident occurred. One suspect sustained gunshot injuries and was admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment, while the second suspect fled the scene.
