A significant seismic event struck western Colombia on Monday morning, measuring 7.4 on the magnitude scale according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake, recorded at 7:34 a.m. local time, originated in San José del Palmar in the department of Chocó, approximately 280 kilometers west of the capital, Bogotá, at a depth of 107 kilometers.
