COLOMBO (News 1st);President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says his government is committed to delivering a better quality of life for Sri Lanka's farming community.The President made these remarks today while attending the commencement ceremony of the second phase of the Anuradhapura North Water Supply ProjectThe second phase of the Anuradhapura North Water Supply Project is being implemented as a long-term solution to the chronic kidney disease prevalent in the Divisional Secretariat areas of Padaviya, Kebithigollewa, Horowpathana and Kahatagasdigiliya.The project aims to provide safe drinking water to 67,000 households in the region.Funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Government of Sri Lanka, the project is being implemented by the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Water Supply together with the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
