The Ministry of Education has launched a probe after six packets of tomorrow's Advanced Level Physics question papers were found at an examination coordination centre in Ambalantota, though officials confirmed the packets remained sealed.

The Ministry of Education has initiated an investigation following the discovery of question paper packets for tomorrow's G.C.E. Advanced Level Physics examination at an examination centre in Ambalantota. The six packets were located inside a container at a school designated as an A/L examination coordination centre on Thursday.

According to officials, the Physics papers were found alongside packets for other subjects—Music, Dancing, and Agriculture—which were scheduled for examination on the same day. The incident raises questions about examination security protocols and how materials intended for a future test date ended up at a coordination centre.

Comissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari Liyanage confirmed that the Physics question paper packets had not been opened or compromised. This detail is significant for maintaining the integrity of the examination, as unsealed packets suggest the papers had not been accessed or their contents revealed prior to discovery.

The discovery occurs amid the ongoing nationwide G.C.E. Advanced Level examination schedule. The Ministry has not yet released further details regarding the circumstances that led to the misplacement of the materials or what measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in future examinations.
