Authorities have temporarily suspended multiple properties valued at more than 70 million rupees allegedly linked to drug trafficker Naufer Jesudasan following an investigation by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.

The Illegal Assets Investigation Division has frozen several properties suspected to belong to drug trafficker Naufer Jesudasan as part of an ongoing probe into illicit assets. The suspended properties, located in the Matale districts of Meegastenna and Ovilikanda, total over 70 million rupees in estimated value.

Among the assets placed under temporary suspension are a 10-perch parcel of land valued at 1.8 million rupees, a 10-perch property with a three-story structure assessed at 41.4 million rupees, a 4-acre tea plantation worth 15 million rupees, and a 12.5-perch plot valued at 1.6 million rupees. Police indicated that investigations into additional properties allegedly connected to the suspect remain active.

Jesudasan was apprehended by the Police Narcotics Bureau and is currently held in remand custody pending further proceedings. The asset freezing action represents part of a broader effort to dismantle drug trafficking operations and recover proceeds believed to have been derived from illegal activities.
