Colombo (News 1st) Former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa's son Rakkitha Rajapaksa and Samagi Jana Balasinghe's Horanai constituency organizer Sarith Abeysinghe were arrested today (25) by the Commission to Investigate Bribery and Corruption. The suspects have been arrested in connection with an incident in which they allegedly received a bribe of Rs. 1,200 lakh to remove Nathun Chindaka, also known as 'Harak Gatta', a criminal involved in organized crimes, from the detention orders issued under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and transfer him to another prison and to bribe Criminal Investigation Department officers to detain him as an ordinary prisoner. Meanwhile, the Commission to Investigate Bribery and Corruption has stated that former Director of the Airports and Civil Aviation Authority Aruna Varusavithana has been arrested in connection with this incident.
