Renovation Of 800 Rural Bridges Begins Today

by Staff Writer 14-07-2026 | 10:12 AMCOLOMBO (News 1st): The project to renovate 800 rural bridges will commence today.The national ceremony for this is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. today in Ridigama, Kurunegala.Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, Prof. Chandana Abeyratne, stated that the renovation of bridges that have become dilapidated due to various reasons, including flood damage, will begin accordingly.The Minister added that 100 bridges will be renovated under the initial phase.
