Multi-instrumentalist Roger Menezes, now residing in Sydney, maintains strong ties to Sri Lanka through regular visits and musical performances, having made multiple trips this year alone.
Roger Menezes, a versatile musician based in Sydney, Australia, continues to maintain a close connection to his native Sri Lanka through frequent visits and performances. According to The Island, Menezes made eight trips to Colombo during 2025 and has already completed four visits so far this year, demonstrating his commitment to staying connected with the local music scene.
During his time in Sri Lanka, Menezes performs as a one-man band, showcasing his proficiency across multiple instruments including vocals, keyboards, guitar, saxophone, and drums. His upcoming performances are scheduled for 28 August and 4 September at Broadway in Dehiwela. Following these engagements, he plans to take a vacation in Nuwara Eliya before returning to Australia on 6 September.
Menezes has an extensive performance history in Sri Lanka, having been part of several notable bands including the Savages, Fireflies, and the Jetliners. Beyond his Sri Lankan activities, he performs regularly at elderly care facilities in Australia, where he focuses on classic music that resonates with older audiences. "I love doing it for them as they love the oldies music I give them. It's nostalgia for those folks," he explained regarding these performances.
Looking ahead, Menezes has scheduled additional commitments in Sri Lanka, including a pre-New Year's Eve party performance at Broadway in December and a January 2027 engagement entertaining Canadian and Australian visitors.
