The left-handed batter is currently undergoing recovery for a minor injury to his big toe at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and is understood to be progressing well in his rehabilitation.
Sudharsan is anticipated to receive medical clearance to travel to Sri Lanka later this week, though his arrival would mean he will miss the three-day warm-up match scheduled to begin on August 7. However, the timeline provides sufficient time for him to be available before the first Test match commences on August 15. According to reports, Sudharsan has already resumed batting training, indicating his fitness level is improving.
The 24-year-old Tamil Nadu and Gujarat player holds a key role in India's Test lineup, typically batting at number three. He has appeared in seven Test matches to date, accumulating 383 runs at an average of 39 with three half-centuries. His expected arrival strengthens India's squad composition for the upcoming series.
