Dimuthu Chathurangana, detained in connection with the assassination of underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa, allegedly used a fake travel document to leave Sri Lanka after the killing, according to police investigations.

Investigators have revealed that Dimuthu Chathurangana, known as Samithpura Chathu, fled Sri Lanka using a forged passport following the murder of underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa. According to police statements, the suspect went into hiding after the killing and obtained the fraudulent travel document from organized crime figure Kehelbaddara Pathme before using it to leave the country.

During questioning, the detained suspect allegedly provided details about arrangements surrounding the case. According to police, Samithpura Chathu claimed that Julian Madhavan was tasked with directing murder suspect Ishara Sewwandi and the alleged gunman involved in Ganemulla Sanjeewa's death to the location where the crime occurred.

Police further stated that the suspect attributed these logistical arrangements to instructions from Kehelbaddara Pathme. The disclosures have provided investigators with additional leads in the high-profile murder investigation. Samithpura Chathu remains in detention custody as authorities continue their inquiry into the case.
