Sri Lanka's Sampath Bank has partnered with GV Auto to offer discounted loans for electric vehicle purchases, aiming to make sustainable transport more affordable for consumers.
Sampath Bank and GV Auto, the local distributor of Gavinro International vehicles, have announced a collaborative financing programme targeting the electric vehicle market in Sri Lanka. Under the arrangement, customers purchasing eligible electric vehicles through GV Auto can access preferential loan terms from the bank.
The key incentive for buyers is a 0.5 percent reduction applied to Sampath Bank's standard vehicle loan interest rate when financing qualifying EV models. GV Auto's current offerings include the Skywell BE11 electric SUV positioned in the premium segment and Keyton commercial electric vehicles designed for business operations.
Both organisations have framed the partnership as an initiative to broaden access to environmentally sustainable transportation options while maintaining affordability. The collaboration aims to leverage Sampath Bank's financial expertise alongside GV Auto's vehicle portfolio and after-sales service network to support wider adoption of electric mobility across the country. The partnership reflects growing market efforts to transition Sri Lankan consumers toward cleaner, more cost-effective transport alternatives.
