Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Botharagama today (26) ordered that 'Loku Petti', who was remanded in custody until the 10th of this month in connection with the incident in which he received Rs. 3 crore to be deposited into his account under the Money Laundering Act, be remanded until the 10th of this month. The Magistrate issued this order after examining the matters presented by the Unlawful Assets Investigation Division. Two people, including the priest of the Gandara Church, who were remanded on suspicion of involvement in this incident, were granted bail during the previous hearing of the case.
The first suspect in this case was produced before the court through Zoom technology.
In this situation, the case will be taken up for hearing again on the 10th of this month.
