The Supreme Court has upheld the life imprisonment sentence imposed by the Anuradhapura High Court on a defendant found guilty in connection with the assassination of retired Army Major General Janaka Perera, his wife, and several others in a suicide bomb attack in Anuradhapura in 2008.Accordingly, the Supreme Court issued the order while dismissing an appeal filed by the defendant against the life imprisonment sentence, said Ada Derana rporter.
