Seylan Bank has marked another milestone in its educational outreach programme by establishing a new library facility at Galgamuwa Maha Vidyalaya in Maharachchimulla, Narammala. The opening of the 294th 'Pahasara' Library brings the bank closer to its stated goal of creating 300 such facilities across Sri Lanka. The inauguration was attended by education officials, bank representatives, school leadership, and members of the local community.
The bank provided substantial support to enhance the school's learning environment, including two laptop computers, a multimedia projector with screen, and educational materials worth LKR 100,000. According to Asiri Abhayaratne, Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Sales at Seylan Bank, the initiative reflects the institution's belief in education as a key investment in the nation's future. The donation aims to improve student access to quality learning resources and create better educational opportunities.
Beyond the library opening, Seylan Bank organised a broader 'Pahasara Week' programme at the school, which included sporting events, media literacy sessions for senior students, financial education workshops, and creative competitions for younger students. These supplementary activities underline the bank's comprehensive approach to supporting youth development through multiple educational and skill-building initiatives.
