Sri Lanka's Institute of Marketing has partnered with finance education provider NANASKA to offer specialized training combining financial skills, leadership development, and strategic thinking for marketing executives.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the country's national marketing body, has formalized a partnership with NANASKA (Pvt) Ltd through a Memorandum of Understanding focused on advancing professional development in the marketing sector. The collaboration aims to address evolving industry demands by equipping marketing professionals with capabilities beyond traditional creative expertise.

The partnership's inaugural initiative is the Finance and Leadership Masterclass for Marketing Professionals, an executive programme designed to enhance participants' financial literacy, commercial acumen, strategic decision-making abilities, and leadership competencies. According to SLIM President Enoch Perera, the programme responds to contemporary market realities where successful marketers must combine creative skills with business understanding and strategic leadership capabilities.

Executive Director of NANASKA, Channa Gunawardana, emphasized that modern marketing professionals require proficiency in finance and commercial strategy alongside creative excellence to drive sustainable business value. The programme seeks to provide practical knowledge and confidence for marketing leaders operating in an increasingly complex business environment.

Beyond the immediate masterclass launch, the partnership establishes a foundation for future collaborative initiatives covering emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and broader business leadership development. SLIM's Vice President for Education and Research noted that professional education must align with industry evolution, while the Vice President for Events and Sustainability highlighted how strategic partnerships create meaningful development opportunities for marketing professionals, fostering stronger integration between marketing and finance functions.
