The Embryo, the innovation division of SLT-MOBITEL, has secured the National 1st Runner-up award for its SenseGrid Industrial IoT solution at the SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards 2026.

SenseGrid, an enterprise-grade Industrial Internet of Things platform, has received recognition at Sri Lanka's prestigious annual innovation competition. The solution was named National 1st Runner-up in the Best Innovative Product in Manufacturing category at the SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards 2026. According to SLT-MOBITEL, the platform leverages artificial intelligence and sensor-based technology to enable intelligent monitoring and automation across industrial operations.

The system is designed to provide real-time operational visibility and predictive analytics that allow manufacturing facilities to make data-driven decisions. According to the company, SenseGrid helps industries reduce equipment downtime, improve overall efficiency, and transition toward Industry 4.0 standards. The platform combines machine condition monitoring capabilities with environmental sensing and operational alert systems.

SenseGrid has already been implemented with several commercial partners, including logistics operator DHL and industrial services provider DSI, according to SLT-MOBITEL. The company states these deployments have demonstrated the solution's practical application in warehouse temperature management, equipment monitoring, and environmental tracking across real industrial settings.

The SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards, organized annually by the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies, recognize digital innovation across multiple sectors including fintech, agritech, healthtech, manufacturing, logistics, retail, hospitality, and education technology. SLT-MOBITEL's achievement aligns with the telecommunications provider's broader strategic focus on developing technology solutions that support Sri Lanka's digital transformation agenda.
