COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) says a special dengue eradication programme covering 60 high-risk dengue zones across the country will commence tomorrow (12).23 high-risk dengue zones are in the Western Province.Dengue control activities have already been underway in those 23 zones since last Sunday under the coordination of the Clean Sri Lanka programme on behalf of the Presidential Secretariat.NDCU Specialist Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera said the programme aims to intensify dengue prevention efforts in identified high-risk areas.So far this year, 67,143 dengue cases have been reported across the country, while the death toll has risen to 47.
