Sri Lanka Cricket held its Annual Awards 2025 ceremony, recognizing outstanding performers across domestic and international cricket while honoring individuals for their lifetime contributions to the sport.
Sri Lanka Cricket hosted its prestigious Annual Awards 2025 ceremony to celebrate exceptional performances throughout the cricketing season. The event recognized leading athletes in both men's and women's cricket across multiple formats and domestic competitions, while also paying tribute to distinguished figures who have contributed significantly to Sri Lankan cricket and sports journalism.
Pathum Nissanka received the Men's Cricketer of the Year award, while Chamari Athapaththu was honored as Women's Cricketer of the Year. In the emerging talent category, Kamil Mishara claimed the Men's Emerging Player award, with Imesha Dulani receiving the corresponding women's honor. At the international level, Athapaththu demonstrated her versatility by earning multiple awards across women's T20 and one-day formats, while Nissanka secured top honors in Test cricket alongside his men's cricketer of the year recognition.
The awards also recognized excellence in domestic cricket across various tournaments and formats. Colombo Cricket Club dominated the Major Club competitions, winning both the T20 and 50-over titles, while Navy Sports Club claimed the women's 50-over championship. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to journalists Reemus Fernando and Kelum Srimal, with Special Lifetime Achievement Awards given to Michael Tissera and Anura Tennekoon.
The ceremony was attended by senior government officials including Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage, along with cricket administrators and representatives from media and telecommunications organizations. The event underscored Sri Lanka Cricket's commitment to recognizing and celebrating sporting excellence across all levels of the game.
