The Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit 2026 will dedicate significant focus to artificial intelligence and digital economy opportunities, with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya set to deliver a keynote address on nation-building in the digital age.
The upcoming Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit 2026, organized by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, will examine how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation can reshape the country's economic landscape. Organizers say the event will explore both the opportunities and challenges these technologies present, with particular emphasis on their capacity to transform existing industries and generate new economic sectors.
A dedicated session on the summit's second day, titled "Nation Building in the Digital Age," will feature Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya as the keynote speaker. According to the chamber, this session will investigate how Sri Lanka can leverage artificial intelligence, digital transformation, innovation, and education to drive economic growth and establish a knowledge-based economy.
The discussion will bring together perspectives from government, academia, and the private sector. Participants will include Waruna Sri Dhanapala from the Ministry of Digital Economy, Roshan Ragel, a senior lecturer in computer engineering from the University of Peradeniya, and Sanjay Shah, founder and CEO of Elevante AI. Vinod Hirdaramani, chairman of Hirdaramani Group, will moderate the session.
Beyond technological advancement itself, the summit will address broader conditions necessary for digital economy growth. Panelists will discuss workforce preparation, education and skills development, policy frameworks, investment requirements, and infrastructure needs. The organizers emphasize that effective collaboration among government, industry, and academia will be critical to converting technological change into tangible economic benefits.
The two-day summit will feature senior policymakers, business leaders, investors, and international experts discussing Sri Lanka's economic trajectory, investment opportunities, and necessary reforms for sustained growth.
