The Cabinet has granted approval to hold the “Sri Lanka Expo 2027” International Exhibition from 14 to 17 January 2027, marking a major showcase of trade and investment opportunities. The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting on April 27, 2026, with tenders called to select an institution to manage the exhibition. According to the government, three bids were received, and following evaluation, the Cabinet Procurement Committee recommended awarding the contract to Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (PVT) Limited (LECS) and Aitken Spence Travels (PVT) Ltd (ASTL). The proposal, submitted by the Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurs Development, was approved to award the contract at a value of Rs. 178.71 million (inclusive of taxes). (Newswire)
