Sri Lanka Insurance Life awarded 227 scholarships worth Rs. 25.3 million to children of its Life policyholders under the 2026 Suba Pathum Scholarship programme. The initiative, launched in 2014, has now granted over 2,425 scholarships cumulatively exceeding Rs. 265 million. Recipients included 77 Grade 5 Scholarship, 70 G.C.E. Ordinary Level, and 74 G.C.E. Advanced Level achievers, selected based on district and national performance. Six students with national rankings at the 2024 A/L exams received special recognition. Financial awards range from Rs. 20,000 for five years (Grade 5) to Rs. 50,000 for three years (A/L). This year, SLIC Life expanded the programme with a one-time Rs. 150,000 scholarship for top national A/L performers beyond its policyholder base. The ceremony took place on 17th July 2026 at Temple Trees, Colombo, attended by the Board and senior management. Beyond scholarships, SLIC Life’s CSR initiatives include free life insurance for parents of children born on October 1st, infrastructure development at 3,365 schools through the ‘Pasal Piriyatha’ project, and support for cultural events and disaster relief. With over 60 years in the industry, Sri Lanka Insurance Life holds the largest life fund in the country at Rs. 247 billion and total assets of Rs. 275 billion, reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen and the nation’s protector.
