The Western Province accounts for the majority of infections, with 50,506 documented cases representing more than half the national total. The Southern Province follows with 13,886 cases, while the Central Province has recorded 8,710 cases. At the district level, Gampaha district leads with the highest burden, representing 21.31% of all cases nationally, followed by Colombo District with 18,914 cases and Kandy District with 6,977 cases.
Monthly trends indicate that July represented the peak of transmission activity this year, with 29,964 cases reported during that month—nearly triple the August figure. June recorded 21,533 cases, suggesting a pattern of elevated transmission during the second half of the year. Health authorities have identified 50 Medical Officer of Health divisions across various districts as high-risk dengue zones, indicating widespread geographic spread requiring targeted intervention efforts.
