Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, who heads the Sri Lankan Navy, conducted an official three-day visit to New Delhi during which he met with Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on August 27, according to India's Ministry of Defence.
The meeting served as an opportunity for both sides to assess the current state of defence collaboration and review progress made under their existing bilateral framework. The two officials discussed matters under the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Plan, which serves as the primary mechanism guiding defence interactions and military engagements between the neighbouring countries.
