by Staff Writer 01-07-2026 | 6:10 PMCOLOMBO (News 1st) - Cabinet Spokesman Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced that the Government has decided not to extend the state of Public Emergency from this month. The Minister made the statement while addressing the Cabinet Decisions Media Briefing held today (01) at the Department of Government Information.The state of public emergency was first declared on November 29, 2025 following the disaster caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
