The Special Task Force has apprehended a individual with a significant quantity of hashish following an intelligence-led operation in the Minuwangoda area.
The Special Task Force Intelligence Division conducted a raid in Ambagahawatta, Minuwangoda, resulting in the arrest of a suspect carrying 12 kilograms of hashish valued at more than Rs. 50 million. The operation was based on information previously gathered by the STF.
The initial apprehension occurred when officers intercepted the suspect traveling by motorcycle in Minuwangoda. A search at the point of arrest yielded six kilograms of hashish. Following this discovery, STF personnel proceeded to search the suspect's residence, where an additional six kilograms of the controlled substance were recovered.
The suspect has since been transferred to Minuwangoda Police, where investigations and legal proceedings are underway.
