Former Assam and Railways player Subhadeep Ghosh has been appointed as India's fielding coach, replacing T Dilip. Ghosh will begin his role during India's upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka in August.
Subhadeep Ghosh, a former first-class cricketer with experience in Indian domestic cricket, has taken on the position of fielding coach for the Indian Men's Cricket Team. The appointment comes after T Dilip's departure from the role following India's recent tour of Zimbabwe.
Ghosh brings considerable experience to the position, having played 17 first-class matches between 1994 and 2004 while representing both Assam and Railways. Beyond his playing career, he has also served as head coach of the Assam Senior Men's Team, providing him with coaching expertise at the domestic level.
His initial assignment with India's senior team will be the two-match Test series scheduled against Sri Lanka for August. This posting marks a significant step in Ghosh's coaching career as he moves from domestic cricket administration to the international stage.
