A fatal shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district claimed seven lives on Friday, according to local authorities and media reports. The deceased included three students, three teachers, and the suspected gunman. An additional 15 people sustained injuries in the incident and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police identified the suspected shooter as a 9th-grade student who was armed with a 9mm handgun. Following the attack, the gunman barricaded himself on the third floor of the school's pink building before being found dead from what authorities described as self-inflicted injuries. Investigators have also alleged that the shooter had killed his grandparents prior to the school incident, though details remain under investigation.
Authorities rapidly mobilized emergency response teams to evacuate students and staff from the campus.
