The body of a 26-year-old youth from the Kalvilan area has been recovered. The youth, who had gone fishing for bait, did not return home after a long time. Following this, his father, who went in search of him, found him floating dead in the pond yesterday (26) morning.

The deceased youth is said to have suffered from epilepsy. It is suspected that he may have had a seizure while fishing and that is why he may have fallen into the pond and died.

The Thunukai Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
