The Ministry of Education has announced the academic calendar for government and approved private schools, with the first phase of the third term ending this week and resuming in early September.

The Ministry of Education has released its schedule for the conclusion and resumption of the third school term across government and government-approved private institutions in 2026. The first phase of the academic period will end on Friday, August 7, with the exception of Muslim schools, which will complete their first phase on Wednesday, September 2.

Following the scheduled break, all schools are set to begin the second phase of the third term on Monday, September 7, 2026. This phase is expected to continue until Friday, December 4, 2026, providing an extended period of instruction through the end of the year.

Concurrently, the Ministry has scheduled the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination to take place between August 10 and September 5, 2026. This timing places the advanced level assessments during the interval between the two phases of the third term, allowing students and schools to prepare and sit for the examinations during the designated window.
