The Presidential Fund has allocated Rs. 1,925,010,000.00 to provide the Rs. 10,000 allowance provided by the Presidential Fund to school students in all districts affected by Cyclone Titva, and all the financial allocations for this have already been sent to the Divisional Secretaries through the District Secretaries. In order to further the educational activities of school students in the disaster-affected districts, the government has taken steps to provide Rs. 25,000 to each student, of which Rs. 15,000 will be provided from the Treasury and Rs. 10,000 from the Presidential Fund. Accordingly, the Rs. 10,000 allowance provided by the Presidential Fund to school students in the Ampara, Hambantota, Polonnaruwa, Monaragala, Mannar and Vavuniya districts has been fully provided, and it is planned to provide the said financial assistance to school students in other districts soon.
