A tractor driver was killed and two others injured after a tractor overturned in the Panaroma City area of Hantana in Kandy on Friday (03), police said. The deceased was a 48-year-old resident of Moragolla in the Thalathuoya Police Division. Police said the tractor, belonging to the Kandy Municipal Council, was transporting goods when it overturned on a downhill stretch of road after its brakes reportedly failed. The two injured assistants were admitted to the Kandy Hospital for treatment. The body has been placed at the Kandy Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination, while Kandy Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
