COLOMBO (News 1st); Travel vlogger Gaffar Musafir has shared an experience in Colombo that is attracting attention online after he recovered a piece of recording equipment he accidentally left behind at the Lotus Tower, only to discover it remained untouched for several hours.According to Musafir, he had visited the Lotus Tower to create content for his social media platforms. Before beginning his recordings, he placed his microphone box on a wall in front of the landmark and removed the microphone and receiver for use during filming. After completing his work at the location, he left the area in a tuk-tuk and continued travelling around Colombo, filming content at various locations throughout the day. It was only after he had finished recording and attempted to place the microphone and receiver back into the box that he realized the box was missing. The realization reportedly sparked panic, as the equipment was an important part of his content creation work. Fearing it had been lost or taken, Musafir immediately returned to the Lotus Tower in the hope that someone may have found it.To his surprise, the microphone box was still at the exact location where he had left it earlier that day. According to the vlogger, nobody had moved or touched the item despite it remaining unattended in a public place for hours.Musafir said he later asked his tuk-tuk driver how such a thing could happen. The driver reportedly responded that people would be unlikely to take the item because the area is covered by surveillance cameras.Reflecting on the incident, Musafir remarked that he doubted he would have recovered the equipment had a similar situation occurred in Delhi or in countries such as Pakistan or Bangladesh. The incident has generated discussion online, with many viewers describing the story as a positive reflection of Colombo and Sri Lanka. The unexpected recovery of the equipment has also been cited by social media users as an example of the sense of security and public responsibility that visitors can encounter while travelling in the country.
