TV Derana has received the 'Youth TV Channel of the Year' award at the seventh edition of the New Generation Sri Lanka Youth Top 40 Awards 2026, recognising its contributions to the media industry.

TV Derana has been honoured with the 'Youth TV Channel of the Year' award at the New Generation Sri Lanka Youth Top 40 Awards 2026, held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo. The recognition acknowledges the channel's contributions and excellence in Sri Lanka's media landscape.

The seventh iteration of the awards programme was designed to celebrate and acknowledge youth leadership, innovation, social impact, and responsible contributions across multiple sectors within the country. The ceremony drew participation from several prominent figures, including Turkish Ambassador to Sri Lanka Semih Lütfü Turgut, who served as chief guest at the event. Former Parliamentarian and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee Eran Wickramaratne attended as guest of honour.

The award reflects recognition of TV Derana's work in youth-focused broadcasting and its broader engagement with Sri Lanka's media sector.
