The Department of Railways has suspended two train services on the Kelani Valley line until further notice due to the unavailability of a power set. The Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Association (SLSMA) said the affected services are the 4.00 p.m. train from Colombo Fort to Avissawella and the 5.55 a.m. train from Avissawella to Colombo Fort. The cancellations took effect from Wednesday (1). The Station Masters’ Association said frequent train cancellations have become a recurring issue within the railway service, causing increasing inconvenience to commuters, particularly office workers and daily passengers who rely on these peak-hour services.
