A serious traffic accident unfolded on the Batticaloa–Koddaikallar main road near Koddaikallar Kannaki Amman Temple late Friday evening, resulting in fatalities and multiple injuries. According to police, the collision occurred at approximately 9:21 p.m. when two motorcycles traveling along the route struck each other.
Following the initial impact, one of the motorcycles careened out of control and struck three students who were positioned near the roadside preparing to cross the road. The sequence of events resulted in a total of two fatalities and six individuals sustaining serious injuries.
