Union Assurance, described as Sri Lanka's longest-established private life insurance provider, has strengthened its market standing by securing Gold Awards in two categories at the National Business Excellence Awards 2026, held recently at Shangri-La Colombo.
The company received the Gold Award for Excellence in the Insurance Sector, while also emerging as the overall category winner for Excellence in Performance Management across all participating industries. The dual recognition reflects the insurer's competitive position within Sri Lanka's life insurance market and its operational standing among the nation's leading businesses.
The awards are administered by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and represent among the country's most recognised corporate recognition programmes. The evaluation framework assesses participating organisations across multiple dimensions, including leadership quality, strategic planning, corporate governance, performance management systems, operational efficiency, workforce development, and stakeholder value creation.
