The US military has conducted a significant strike campaign against Iranian military installations, stating the operation was carried out in response to an alleged Iranian missile attack on American forces in the Middle East.

The United States Central Command announced a major offensive operation targeting numerous facilities associated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. According to CENTCOM, the strikes focused on military command infrastructure, missile production and drone assembly facilities, as well as coastal defence and surveillance systems and maritime operational capabilities.

US officials characterised the operation as a defensive response to what they described as an attempted ballistic missile attack by Iran against American military personnel deployed across the Middle East region. Washington stated that all incoming Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted during the incident, with no casualties or injuries reported among US forces.

The strikes represent an escalation in military tensions between the two nations and mark a significant development in the ongoing regional security dynamics.
