Northern Province Governor Nagalingam Vedhanayake will be leaving for a two-week overseas trip from July 1st, sources at the Governor's Secretariat have said.

The Northern Province Governor will be travelling to London on a two-week visit from July 1st to July 15th.

During the two-week overseas trip, the Eastern Province Governor will be appointed as the Acting Governor to ensure that the administrative functions and urgent duties of the province are carried out without any hindrance. Accordingly, it has been informed that the Eastern Province Governor will take care of all the additional administrative responsibilities and duties of the Governor of the Northern Province from July 1st to July 15th.

It is noteworthy that this two-week foreign trip will take place against the backdrop of Governor Vedhanayakan's recent initiatives regarding the local government administrations of the Northern Province and the development of border villages.
