Colombo (News 1st) Northern Provincial Governor Nagalingam Vedhanayakan has issued extraordinary gazettes declaring that Vavuniya Municipal Council Mayor Sundaralingam Kanteepan and Chavakachcheri Urban Council Deputy Chairman Gnanaprakasaam Kishore are unfit to continue in their positions. It is stated that the Northern Provincial Governor has issued these extraordinary gazettes in accordance with the powers vested in him under the Municipal Councils Ordinance Act No. 29 of 1947 and the Urban Councils Ordinance Act No. 61 of 1939. The gazettes state that the two in question will be removed from their positions and membership rights with effect from today (24).
