The police said that the arrest was made during a special raid carried out on Laksapana Road in Vavuniya yesterday. Based on a confidential information received by the Vavuniya Police, the police conducted a surprise raid while the Kerala cannabis, which was brought from Kilinochchi in a car, was being transferred to another three-wheeler. During this, one person who was in possession of the cannabis was arrested, while two others involved in the incident have escaped, the police said. The police seized 21 kg 600 grams of Kerala cannabis hidden in packages from the arrested suspect, and the used car and three-wheeler were also taken to the police station.
