It is reported that this arrest operation was carried out yesterday (26.06.2026).
Woman caught in Rs. 20 lakh fraud Further information regarding the incident is as follows:
Following a complaint filed by the suspect that she had defrauded Rs. 20 lakh by promising her a job abroad, the Special Crime Investigation Unit has initiated an investigation.
Accordingly, following an investigation conducted by a team of Special Crime Investigation Unit officers at the Alubommai Police Division yesterday (26) morning, the suspect in connection with the incident has been arrested.
The suspect thus arrested has also been identified as a 41-year-old resident of Panadura, Kalutara.
The Special Crime Investigation Unit is conducting further investigations into this incident.
