A Sri Lankan deported from Malaysia has been arrested at the Katunayake Airport. The suspect, who is said to have been acting as a gunman for the detained criminal gang member Kehelpatara Padme, has been arrested. He was arrested by the country's security forces while he was staying in Malaysia. He was arrested upon arrival at the Katunayake Airport last night after being deported to Sri Lanka after recording a statement. The suspect was arrested by a team of Criminal Investigation Department officers and his statement was recorded. The police said that he has been handed over to the Colombo North Crime Suppression Division for further investigations. International Red Alert The suspect is a 42-year-old resident of Yagodamulla, Kotugoda, and an international red alert had been issued against him. He is accused of shooting dead an organised criminal known as 'Basbotta' and another person with him inside the Gampaha Court premises on 22 July 2022. The main charge against him is that he also injured several others present there by shooting.
