The arrest was made based on a complaint received by the Horana Special Crime Investigation Unit that the suspect had defrauded them of Rs. 2 million by promising them employment opportunities abroad. The woman was arrested during a special raid conducted by the Horana Special Crime Investigation Unit in the Alubomulla Police Division on Friday (26) morning. The police said that the arrested woman is a 41-year-old woman from Panadura. The Horana Special Crime Investigation Unit is conducting further investigations into the incident.
