साइबर क्राइम इंवेस्टिगेशन डिवीजन ने एक 21 वर्षीय युवक को गिरफ्तार किया है जो विदेशी रोजगार के वादों के माध्यम से एक 28 वर्षीय महिला से 66 लाख रुपये से अधिक की धोखाधड़ी करने का आरोपी है।
Law enforcement has apprehended a 21-year-old suspect from the Ambalanthurai area in connection with an employment fraud scheme. According to police, the individual deceived a 28-year-old woman from Puttalam's Bangadeniya area by claiming to secure foreign job placements, convincing her to transfer money through online banking channels.
The victim lost a total of 6,644,000 rupees through the fraudulent arrangement. The complaint regarding the incident was formally registered on June 27 of the previous year, prompting the Cyber Crime Investigation Division's North Western Provincial unit to launch an investigation. Following months of inquiry work, authorities identified and arrested the suspect on August 3rd in the evening.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Silaballanam Magistrate's Court for further legal proceedings. Police investigations into the matter remain ongoing as officials work to determine whether additional victims exist or if the suspect was involved in similar schemes.
