Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala said that 232 suspects on Red Notices are hiding in various countries, 37 of whom have been identified as organized criminals, and steps have been taken to arrest and bring them back to Sri Lanka.

The Minister said that in the past 20 months, 23 organized criminals have been brought to Sri Lanka through Red Notices, and another 35 have been brought back without Red Notices.

In addition to these, the Minister disclosed that 96 more organized criminals on Red Notices are hiding abroad, and they are in the United Arab Emirates, India, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Russia, Italy and Saudi Arabia.

The suspects will be arrested and brought back to Sri Lanka as soon as possible, and legal action has been taken against those involved in the second and third stages of organized crime, he added. R
