According to reports, the footage captures a Saltburn fielder clicking his fingers as a delivery passes batter Noman Shabir's bat, moments before wicketkeeper Josh Bowes takes the catch. The umpire ruled the batter out following the incident. The video has been viewed more than three million times online, drawing widespread attention to the alleged misconduct.
The North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League confirmed receipt of a formal complaint and initiated a full investigation into the matter.
